I think the balance between light and dark has kind of been lost. the shadows in this impact on the image but it really does make the rest of image disappear.
As well with the use of lines and diagonals the viewers eyes are drawn up to the top of the image and with the funny human quirk of following the line of sight of other people that is just reinforced with the person looking up.

It is a good attempt but i feel that the subject matter is lost in the technique, if you were try to capture something in the image make it the main focus.

It was kind of spontaneous. XD
My contact had been bothering my eye and making it irritated and red, which made the veins more prominent, so I ran to the bathroom, took out my contact and ended up taking photos!

i know that feeling i got lots of pics here of my poseing with mask knifes and stuff like sure i wanna tell something with them but they are spontane too, i love to take weird photos, gots some from when im laying out in the road in the front of a driving car ^^'
