We have been standing for a week now stopping only occasionally to empty the pointless bucket and if we are lucky maybe we will get food because we have all eaten our ration that was supposed to last us this trip. I lost my parents at the last camp we were at, Auschwitz and my brother was taken from us right away. I hope it isn’t true that he wasn’t taken up with the smoke.
Life was perfectly fine before they had to come and invade Poland! My dad had his own dentist business and my mother stayed home and volunteered at our local synagogue. I was almost finished with school and my little brother was going to start next year. First the laws appeared, taking away basic human rights that a civilian is entitled to.
